All classes will be held at the Designs by Ja9 Studio
1685 Corbett Highlands Place, Arroyo Grande, CA.
(unless otherwise stated)

In most cases, arrangements will be made to pick up the class projects approximately one week after the class to allow for completion of the firing and finishing process.

Kiln Firing 101

Are you interested in learning how to fire glass in a kiln? By popular demand, I am repeating the KILN FIRING 101 class! Learn the basics of kiln firing and programming in this introductory class. This is a lecture and demonstration class only. No projects will be made.
Saturday, May 11th from 9:00 a.m. until your brain is full or until noon... whichever comes first. Class fee $30.

Pebble Play Dish

Saturday, June 1st 9:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.

Using clear glass pebbles and frit (crushed glass), students will create this “bubbly" eight-inch dish. This is a perfect project for the beginner who wants to explore the art of fused glass.

Introduction to Glass Fusion

Tuesdays, June 4th to 18th 6:00 p.m.

Students will create a 6” dish, a flower bowl that can be made into a birdfeeder or garden stake and smaller pieces suitable for jewelry. Glass preparation and cutting techniques, the basics of kiln firing and jewelry techniques will be explored in this 3-week class.

3- Day Patty Gray
Intermediate Glass Fusion Class

Patty Gray is coming to play! What a treat to have world famous glass artist Patty Gray here on the Central Coast. Spoil yourself and spend 3 days being inspired and encouraged by an amazing artist and instructor. Learn techniques to create exquisite, gallery-quality glass art. Develop and build your design and composition skills while stimulating your imagination. Patty will cover the breadth and depth of glass fusing in this workshop, including: combing and manipulating glass in the kiln, working with mosaics, high fire projects, pot melts/pours, vitrograph, bas relief and frit cast objects for inclusion into the final project. You'll also experiment with surface design elements, including frits, powders, stringers, metals, mica powders, frit painting, and dichroic glass. Garden Border Dish

Saturday August 3rd, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This beautiful glass dish is created on a base of “bubble” glass for added interest. Project is perfect for beginning glass enthusiast since simple cutting techniques, that require no previous glass experience, are used.

Designs by Ja9 Cancellation Policy:
A full refund will be given 30 days prior to the scheduled date of the class. A 50% refund will be given after 30 days up until a week prior to the class when there will be no refund. Class fees may be transferred to another class up to 10 days prior to the date of the class; depending upon availability. "Make-up sessions" will not be offered on series classes so please be sure that you are available for all of the class dates prior to registration.
